- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
- Probate: Proving a will
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States may apply to the District of Columbia and any territory and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See
§ 466. Notice to parties
The application provided in section 465 of this title shall state the names and addresses of all parties in interest, so far as they are known to the applicant, and the Probate Division of the Superior Court shall order such notice by registered mail, publication, or service of process, as to it shall seem proper to protect the rights of all parties in interest. Failure on the part of a party in interest to receive such notice shall be ground for relief under 12 V.S.A. § 2357, if the party is possessed of enforceable rights which are prejudiced by the discharge of a mortgage as aforesaid.
