- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States may apply to the District of Columbia and any territory and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See
§ 8172. Inconsistent laws repealed
So much of the charter of any corporation or company organized under the laws of this State as exempts such corporation from taxation, so far as it conflicts with this chapter, is hereby repealed.
