Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 33 Sec. 121
- Benefits: means aid or commodities furnished under chapter 17 of this title. See
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner for Children and Families. See
- Person: shall include any natural person, corporation, municipality, the State of Vermont or any department, agency, or subdivision of the State, and any partnership, unincorporated association, or other legal entity. See
§ 121. Cancellation of assistance or benefits
If at any time the Commissioner for Children and Families or the Commissioner of Vermont Health Access has reason to believe that assistance or benefits have been improperly obtained, he or she shall cause an investigation to be made and may suspend assistance or benefits pending the investigation. If on investigation the Commissioner for Children and Families or the Commissioner of Vermont Health Access is satisfied that the assistance or benefits were illegally obtained, he or she shall immediately cancel them. A person having illegally obtained assistance or benefits shall not be eligible for reinstatement until his or her need has been reestablished. (Added 1967, No. 147, § 1; amended 2005, No. 174 (Adj.
