Terms Used In Vermont Statutes Title 5 Sec. 209
- Agency: means the Agency of Transportation. See
- Airport: means any area of land or water set aside by the Agency, any political subdivision, or person, except a restricted landing area, that is designed for the landing and take-off of aircraft, and used or to be used in the interest of the general public whether or not facilities are provided for the shelter, servicing, or repair of aircraft, or for receiving or discharging passengers or cargo, and all appurtenant areas used or suitable for airport buildings or other airport facilities, including all appurtenant rights-of-way. - Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Person: means an individual, firm, partnership, corporation, company, association, joint stock association, or body politic, including a trustee, receiver, assignee, or other similar representative. See
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States may apply to the District of Columbia and any territory and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See
§ 209. Payment for acquisition of land
Whenever the Agency approves the expenditure of monies in connection with the acquisition of property for airport, landing field, or landing strip purposes in accordance with the provisions of this part, or in reimbursing local governmental units or the federal government for the State‘s share of the cost of the acquisition, the Agency shall issue to the Commissioner of Finance and Management a certificate setting forth the sum so approved and the person, firm, corporation, or governmental unit to which it is payable, and the Commissioner of Finance and Management shall issue a warrant for the payment of the sum named in the certificate.
