No state, county or municipal officer or employee shall forfeit or vacate his office or position, by reason of serving or of having served as an officer, member, agent or employee, or in any other position or capacity, in the Selective Service System of the United States.

- Person: includes any individual, corporation, partnership, association, cooperative, limited liability company, trust, joint venture, government, political subdivision, or any other legal or commercial entity and any successor, representative, agent, agency, or instrumentality thereof. - State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands. See Virginia Code 1-245

No person shall be ineligible to hold any state, county or municipal office or position by reason of being engaged in service in Virginia in the Selective Service System of the United States.
