Virginia Code 40.1-28.7:11: Veterans benefits and services poster.
A. The Department shall, in consultation with the Department of Veterans Services, create and make available to all employers in the Commonwealth a poster describing benefits and services available to veterans. The poster shall, at a minimum, include information about the following benefits and services:

- Department: means the Department of Labor and Industry. See Virginia Code 40.1-2
- Employee: means any person who, in consideration of wages, salaries or commissions, may be permitted, required or directed by any employer to engage in any employment directly or indirectly. See Virginia Code 40.1-2
- Employer: means an individual, partnership, association, corporation, legal representative, receiver, trustee, or trustee in bankruptcy doing business in or operating within this Commonwealth who employs another to work for wages, salaries, or on commission and shall include any similar entity acting directly or indirectly in the interest of an employer in relation to an employee. See Virginia Code 40.1-2
- State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the United States Virgin Islands. See Virginia Code 1-245
1. Department of Veterans Services’ programs, contact information, and website address;
2. Substance abuse and mental health treatment services;
3. Educational, workforce, and training resources;
4. Tax benefits;
5. Eligibility for unemployment insurance benefits under state or federal law;
6. Legal services; and
7. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Crisis Line.
B. Any employer in the Commonwealth may request from the Department and display the poster in the same location where other employee notices required by state or federal law are posted.
