Terms Used In Virginia Code 54.1-3478

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Board: means the Board of Physical Therapy. See Virginia Code 54.1-3473
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
  • Physical therapist: means any person licensed by the Board to engage in the practice of physical therapy. See Virginia Code 54.1-3473

1. Is 18 years of age or more;

2. Is a graduate of a two-year educational program for physical therapist assistants at an institution of higher education that is acceptable to the Board; and

3. Has satisfactorily passed an examination approved by the Board.
