Whenever by this title or the terms of any policy contract notice is required to be given by an employer to any insurance carrier, the same may be given by delivery or by mailing by registered letter properly addressed and stamped to the principal office or chief agent of such insurance carrier within this Commonwealth or to its home office, or to the secretary, general agent or chief officer thereof in the United States.

Terms Used In Virginia Code 65.2-810

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Employer: includes (i) any person, the Commonwealth or any political subdivision thereof and any individual, firm, association or corporation, or the receiver or trustee of the same, or the legal representative of a deceased employer, using the service of another for pay and (ii) any volunteer fire company or volunteer emergency medical services agency electing to be included and maintaining coverage as an employer under this title.
