Nothing in this chapter limits the power of the state to punish any person for any conduct which constitutes a crime by statute or at common law.

Terms Used In Washington Code 21.20.420
- Common law: The legal system that originated in England and is now in use in the United States. It is based on judicial decisions rather than legislative action.
- Person: means an individual, a corporation, a partnership, a limited liability company, a limited liability partnership, an association, a joint-stock company, a trust where the interest of the beneficiaries are evidenced by a security, an unincorporated organization, a government, or a political subdivision of a government. - State: means any state, territory, or possession of the United States, as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. See Washington Code 21.20.005
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
