It is no defense to a prosecution for perjury or false swearing:

- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- Oath: includes an affirmation and every other mode authorized by law of attesting to the truth of that which is stated; in this chapter, written statements shall be treated as if made under oath if:
Washington Code 9A.72.010person: may be construed to include the United States, this state, or any state or territory, or any public or private corporation or limited liability company, as well as an individual. See Washington Code 1.16.080
(1) That the oath was administered or taken in an irregular manner; or
(2) That the person administering the oath lacked authority to do so, if the taking of the oath was required or authorized by law.
