Terms Used In Washington Code > Chapter 39.62 - Uniform facsimile signature of public officials act

  • Authorized officer: means any official of this state or any of its departments, agencies, counties, cities, towns, municipal corporations, junior taxing districts, school districts, or other instrumentalities or any of its political subdivisions whose signature to a public security or instrument of payment is required or permitted. See Washington Code 39.62.010
  • Facsimile signature: means a reproduction by engraving, imprinting, stamping, or other means of the manual signature of an authorized officer. See Washington Code 39.62.010
  • Instrument of payment: means a check, draft, warrant, or order for the payment, delivery, or transfer of funds. See Washington Code 39.62.010
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • person: may be construed to include the United States, this state, or any state or territory, or any public or private corporation or limited liability company, as well as an individual. See Washington Code 1.16.080
  • Public security: means a bond, note, certificate of indebtedness, or other obligation for the payment of money, issued by this state or by any of its departments, agencies, counties, cities, towns, municipal corporations, junior taxing districts, school districts, or other instrumentalities or by any of its political subdivisions. See Washington Code 39.62.010
