Notwithstanding the provisions of article sixteen-a and section five-b, article seventeen-a of this chapter and section seven-a, article six, chapter seventeen-c of this code to the contrary, the collection and enforcement of tolls for the use of roads, highways and bridges may be accomplished by electronic toll collection as provided in this article and in rules promulgated by authority of this article.

Terms Used In West Virginia Code 17-16D-3

  • Electronic toll collection: means a system of collecting tolls or charges that has or includes the capability of charging an account holder, owner or operator of a vehicle for the prescribed toll:

    (A) By electronic transmission of information between a device on a vehicle and a device located in a toll lane or otherwise used at a toll collection facility. See West Virginia Code 17-16D-2
