Certified copies of orders of decrees of adjudication of bankruptcy, made pursuant to the acts of Congress relating to bankruptcy, shall be filed in the office of the clerk of the county court of any county wherein any real estate owned by the bankrupt is situated. Such degrees shall be recorded in the deed books and indexed in the name of the bankrupt. For each such recordation the clerk shall be paid a fee of 50¢.

  • Bankruptcy: Refers to statutes and judicial proceedings involving persons or businesses that cannot pay their debts and seek the assistance of the court in getting a fresh start. Under the protection of the bankruptcy court, debtors may discharge their debts, perhaps by paying a portion of each debt. Bankruptcy judges preside over these proceedings.
