A foreign limited partnership may register with the Secretary of State under any name, whether or not it is the name under which it is registered in its state of organization, that could be registered by a domestic limited partnership under the provisions of section two of this article.
Terms Used In West Virginia Code 47-9-51
- domestic limited partnership: means a partnership formed by two or more persons under the laws of this state and having one or more general partners and one or more limited partners. See West Virginia Code 47-9-1
- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- State: means a state, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See West Virginia Code 47-9-1
