Terms Used In West Virginia Code > Chapter 17 > Article 2 - State Road Commission
- Administrator: means any person who fills a statutorily created position in an agency within the Department of Transportation and who is designated by statute as commissioner, executive director, or other administrative title, however designated. See West Virginia Code 17-2-1
- Advice and consent: Under the Constitution, presidential nominations for executive and judicial posts take effect only when confirmed by the Senate, and international treaties become effective only when the Senate approves them by a two-thirds vote.
- Agency: means any division, authority, board, commission, or other entity of state government, however designated, transferred to and incorporated in and administered as part of the Department of Transportation and includes agencies incorporated in the department pursuant to this code, including, but not limited to, §. See West Virginia Code 17-2-1
- Code: means the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended by the Legislature. See West Virginia Code 17-2-1
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- department: means the executive department created pursuant to Chapter 5F of this code as the Department of Transportation. See West Virginia Code 17-2-1
- State: when applied to a part of the United States and not restricted by the context, includes the District of Columbia and the several territories, and the words "United States" also include the said district and territories. See West Virginia Code 2-2-10
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
