- Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
- Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
Except as provided in s. 153.77, any person violating s. 153.50 or rules promulgated under s. 153.75 (1) (a) is liable to the patient for actual damages and costs, plus exemplary damages of up to $1,000 for a negligent violation and up to $5,000 for an intentional violation.
