Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 185.64
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Articles: means the articles of incorporation of a cooperative unless the context otherwise requires. See Wisconsin Statutes 185.01
- Cooperative: means an association incorporated under this chapter. See Wisconsin Statutes 185.01
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- Corporation: means all corporations not associations. See Wisconsin Statutes 185.01
A corporation may convert itself into a cooperative by adopting an amendment to its articles by which it elects to become subject to this chapter, together with changes in its articles required by this chapter and other desirable changes permitted by this chapter. Such amendment shall be adopted, filed and recorded in the manner provided by the law then applicable to the corporation.
