- State: when applied to states of the United States, includes the District of Columbia, the commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the several territories organized by Congress. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
Each licensee shall be liable for the payment of all checks which it sells, in whatever form and whether directly or through an agent, as the maker or drawer of the check according to the negotiable instrument laws of this state.
