The interests of the public shall be represented in proceedings under this chapter as follows:
Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 48.09
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- County board: means the county board of supervisors. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
- Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
- Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed; "year" alone means "year of our Lord". See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
(5) By the district attorney or, if designated by the county board of supervisors, by the corporation counsel, in any matter arising under s. 48.13, 48.133, or 48.977 or, if applicable, s. 48.9795. If the county board transfers this authority to or from the district attorney on or after May 11, 1990, the board may do so only if the board notifies the department of administration of the change no later than January 1 of the calendar year during which the change takes effect.
(6) By any appropriate person designated by the county board of supervisors in any matter arising under s. 48.14.
