Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 782.11

  • Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.

When such writ is directed to any person other than an officer, it may require as a duty to be performed, in order to render the service thereof effectual, that the charges of bringing up such prisoner shall be paid by the petitioner, and in such case the writ shall specify the amount of such charges so to be paid, which shall not exceed the fees allowed by law to sheriffs for similar services.
