- Attachment: A procedure by which a person's property is seized to pay judgments levied by the court.
- Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
- Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.
If a sheriff neglects to make return to such writ the attachment may be directed to any coroner or other person to be designated therein, who shall execute the same; and such sheriff may be committed to the jail of any county other than the sheriff’s own.
