Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 844.18
- Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
- Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.
- Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
- Property: includes real and personal property. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
Any person claiming an interest in the property described in the complaint, and claiming that he or she has been, or will be, injured by a defendant‘s activity may intervene in the action.
