- Person: includes all partnerships, associations and bodies politic or corporate. See Wisconsin Statutes 990.01
- Tort: A civil wrong or breach of a duty to another person, as outlined by law. A very common tort is negligent operation of a motor vehicle that results in property damage and personal injury in an automobile accident.
Every person confined in jail on an execution issued on a judgment recovered in an action founded on a tort shall be discharged therefrom upon the conditions hereinafter specified.
