Terms Used In Wisconsin Statutes 969.05
- Bail: Security given for the release of a criminal defendant or witness from legal custody (usually in the form of money) to secure his/her appearance on the day and time appointed.
(1) In misdemeanor actions, the judge who issues a warrant may endorse upon the warrant the amount of bail.
(2) The amount and method of posting bail may be endorsed upon felony warrants.
