- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
A court of competent jurisdiction may, for cause shown and on notice to the beneficiaries, relieve a trustee from any or all of the duties and restrictions that would otherwise be placed on the trustee by Alaska Stat. § 13.36.105 – 13.36.220 or wholly or partly excuse a trustee who has acted honestly and reasonably from liability for violations of Alaska Stat. § 13.36.105 – 13.36.220.
