(a)Alaska Stat. § 21.59.01021.59.090 applies to a person, firm, corporation, or organization providing or intending to provide automobile service corporation services for subscribers in exchange for periodic prepayments by a subscriber.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 21.59.010

  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association, organization, business trust, or society, as well as a natural person. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
  • state: means the State of Alaska unless applied to the different parts of the United States and in the latter case it includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b)Alaska Stat. § 21.59.01021.59.090 does not apply to a person issued a certificate of authority under Alaska Stat. Chapter 21.09 or to a person issued a provider license under Alaska Stat. § 21.59.11021.59.290, but only to the extent the person is offering a motor vehicle service contract in this state.
(c) Other provisions of this title do not apply to an automobile service corporation except as expressly provided in Alaska Stat. § 21.59.01021.59.090.
