(a) A borough and all cities in the borough may unite to form a single unit of home rule government by complying with Alaska Stat. § 29.06.190 – 29.06.410.

Terms Used In Alaska Statutes 29.06.190

  • municipality: means a political subdivision incorporated under the laws of the state that is a home rule or general law city, a home rule or general law borough, or a unified municipality. See Alaska Statutes 01.10.060
(b) An area that is not incorporated as a borough, including any cities in the area, may incorporate as a unified municipality under Alaska Stat. § 29.05.031.
