A. In addition to any other assessment or restitution, if a person is convicted of a dangerous crime against children as defined in section 13-705 or sexual assault, the court shall order the person to pay an assessment of $500. The assessment shall not be waived and is not subject to a surcharge.

- Person: includes a corporation, company, partnership, firm, association or society, as well as a natural person. See Arizona Laws 1-215
- Restitution: The court-ordered payment of money by the defendant to the victim for damages caused by the criminal action.
B. The court shall transmit the monies collected pursuant to this section to the county treasurer for the purpose of defraying the cost of investigations pursuant to section 13-1414.
