As used in this chapter, “general partner” means:
(a) In the case of a partnership, a general partner, as defined in § 15901.02 of the Corporations Code.

- Partnership: A voluntary contract between two or more persons to pool some or all of their assets into a business, with the agreement that there will be a proportional sharing of profits and losses.
- person: includes individuals, limited liability companies, partnerships and other associations, and corporations. See California Business and Professions Code 17902
(b) In the case of an unincorporated association other than a partnership, a person interested in the business of the association whose liability with respect to the association is substantially the same as that of a general partner, as defined in § 15901.02 of the Corporations Code.
