The provisions of the article shall apply to all of the following:
(a) All domestic life or disability insurers, except the State Compensation Insurance Fund.
Terms Used In California Insurance Code 1077.1
- Commissioner: means the Insurance Commissioner of this State. See California Insurance Code 20
- Consent: means agreement to administrative supervision by the insurer. See California Insurance Code 1077
- Domestic: means organized under the laws of this State, whether or not admitted. See California Insurance Code 26
- Insurer: means and includes every person engaged as indemnitor, surety, or contractor in the business of entering into contracts of life or disability insurance or of annuities. See California Insurance Code 1077
- State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Insurance Code 28
(b) Any other life or disability insurer doing business in this state whose state of domicile has asked the commissioner to apply the provisions of this article as regards that insurer.
(c) Notwithstanding subdivision (a), the State Compensation Insurance Fund may give its consent to administrative supervision pursuant to paragraph (5) of subdivision (a) of Section 1077.2.
