Every license, branch office certificate, and pocket card issued pursuant to this chapter shall expire on the day two years after the last calendar day of the month in which the initial license was issued. Licenses issued prior to January 1, 2011, shall expire on May 31 of each even-numbered year. To renew an unexpired license or certificate, the licensee shall, on or before the date on which it would otherwise expire, apply for renewal on a form prescribed by the commissioner, and pay the renewal fee prescribed by this chapter. On renewal, the evidence of renewal of the license or certificate as the commissioner may prescribe, and renewal pocket cards for the persons mentioned in Section 15022 shall be issued to the licensee.
