• Adjourn: A motion to adjourn a legislative chamber or a committee, if passed, ends that day's session.
• board: means a county transit development board created pursuant to Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 120050). See California Public Utilities Code 120001
• board: means the board of directors of the district. See California Public Utilities Code 125050
• County: includes city and county. See California Public Utilities Code 18
• County: includes city and county. See California Water Code 14
• Delta: means the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta as described in Section 12220. See California Water Code 12310
• Department: means the Department of Water Resources. See California Water Code 12310
• Devise: To gift property by will.
• district: means the North County Transit District. See California Public Utilities Code 125001
• Local public agency: means a reclamation district or levee district or other public agency responsible for the maintenance of a nonproject levee as defined in subdivision (e) of Section 12980 or a project levee as defined in subdivision (f) of Section 12980. See California Water Code 12310
• Net long-term habitat improvement: means enhancement of riparian, fisheries, and wildlife habitat. See California Water Code 12310
• Person: means any person, firm, association, organization, partnership, business trust, corporation, limited liability company, or company. See California Water Code 19
• Project: means the flood control improvement and any mitigation and habitat improvement constructed, or interests in land acquired, for those purposes pursuant to this part. See California Water Code 12310
• Pupil: includes a pupil's parent or guardian or legal counsel. See California Education Code 48925
• Schoolday: means a day upon which the schools of the district are in session or weekdays during the summer recess. See California Education Code 48925
• State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Public Utilities Code 17
• State: means the State of California, unless applied to the different parts of the United States. See California Water Code 18
• Subdivision: means a subdivision of the section in which that term occurs unless some other section is expressly mentioned. See California Public Utilities Code 10
• Suspension: means removal of a pupil from ongoing instruction for adjustment purposes. See California Education Code 48925
