(a) A certified competitive video service provider shall make closed captioning available when simultaneously broadcast with video signals carried by the provider.

Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 16-331m

  • another: may extend and be applied to communities, companies, corporations, public or private, limited liability companies, societies and associations. See Connecticut General Statutes 1-1
  • Certified competitive video service provider: means an entity providing video service pursuant to a certificate of video franchise authority issued by the authority in accordance with section 16-331e. See Connecticut General Statutes 16-1
  • Video service: means video programming services provided through wireline facilities, a portion of which are located in the public right-of-way, without regard to delivery technology, including Internet protocol technology. See Connecticut General Statutes 16-1

(b) A certified competitive video service provider shall offer the concurrent rebroadcast of local television broadcast channels, or utilize another economically or technically feasible process for providing an appropriate message through the provider’s video service in the event of a public safety emergency issued over the emergency broadcast system.
