(a) The provisions of this chapter may be enforced by injunction in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 19a-442
- Assembly: means a company of persons gathered together at any location at any single time for any purpose. See Connecticut General Statutes 19a-435
- Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
- Person: means any individual, partnership, corporation, limited liability company, firm, company, association, society or group. See Connecticut General Statutes 19a-435
(b) The holding of an assembly in violation of any provision or condition contained in this chapter shall be deemed a public nuisance and may be abated as such.
(c) Any person who violates subsection (a) of section 19a-436 or who violates any condition upon which he is granted a license shall be fined not less than one thousand dollars or more than ten thousand dollars. Each day of violation shall be considered a separate offense.
