(a) Appointment of the medical staff or an individual medical staff member of a hospital, as defined in the regulations of Connecticut state agencies and licensed pursuant to subsection (a) of section 19a-491, may be biennial or triennial and consistent with the federal Medicare conditions of participation and standards and with the requirements of approved national accreditation organizations in accordance with 42 C.F.R. § 488.8.
Terms Used In Connecticut General Statutes 19a-490hh
- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Public Health or the commissioner's designee. See Connecticut General Statutes 19a-490
- Hospital: means an establishment for the lodging, care and treatment of persons suffering from disease or other abnormal physical or mental conditions and includes inpatient psychiatric services in general hospitals. See Connecticut General Statutes 19a-490
(b) The Commissioner of Public Health may amend existing regulations adopted pursuant to section 19a-14 as necessary to implement the provisions of this section.
