As used in sections 19a-511 to 19a-520, inclusive, “nursing home” means an institution licensed under this chapter and “nursing home administrator” means the person in general administrative charge of a nursing home. All nursing homes licensed under this chapter shall be under the supervision of a licensed nursing home administrator.

- Institution: means a hospital, short-term hospital special hospice, hospice inpatient facility, residential care home, nursing home facility, home health care agency, home health aide agency, behavioral health facility, assisted living services agency, substance abuse treatment facility, outpatient surgical facility, outpatient clinic, clinical laboratory, blood collection facility, source plasma donation center, birth center, an infirmary operated by an educational institution for the care of students enrolled in, and faculty and employees of, such institution. - Person: means any individual, firm, partnership, corporation, limited liability company or association. See Connecticut General Statutes 19a-490
