Terms Used In 10 Guam Code Ann. § 66105
- Indictment: The formal charge issued by a grand jury stating that there is enough evidence that the defendant committed the crime to justify having a trial; it is used primarily for felonies.
- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
(b) Every volunteer shall, entering upon his duties, take an oath, in writing, before a person authorized to administer oaths in this Territory, which oath shall be substantially as follows:
“”I , do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the laws of the territory of Guam, against all enemies, foreign or domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties upon which I am about to enter and I do further swear (or affirm) that I do not advocate, nor am I a member of any political party or organization that advocates the overthrow of the Government of the United States or of this Territory by force or violence; and that during such time as I am a member of the Civil- ian Volunteer Police Reserve I will not advocate nor become a member of any political party or organization that advocates the overthrow of the Government of the United States or of this Territory by force or violence.””
