Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 201-9

  • Department: means the department of business, economic development, and tourism. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 201-1
  • Donor: The person who makes a gift.
  • Government: means the State, or any of its political subdivisions, agencies, and instrumentalities, corporate or otherwise. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 201-1

The department of business, economic development, and tourism shall seek the widest possible cooperation, under law, with public and private agencies and the federal government in achieving the purpose of this part. It may accept funds from individuals and other agencies, public and private, and agree to such lawful and reasonable conditions and terms as the donor of funds may require, all toward the end of furthering the purposes of this part. The funds may be expended by the department on vouchers approved by its director, or may be transferred to other state agencies for expenditure by them in effectuating the purposes of this part.

To the end of stimulating cooperation toward the economic development of Hawaii and of disseminating useful information which it obtains, the department shall from time to time publish the results of its research, its findings, and recommendations.
