Terms Used In Hawaii Revised Statutes 414D-10

  • Department director: means the director of the department of commerce and consumer affairs, unless the context otherwise requires. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 414D-14
  • Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.

A certificate attached to a copy of a document bearing the department director’s signature (which may be in facsimile) and the seal of the department is conclusive evidence that the original document is on file with the department director.
