- Department: means the department of commerce and consumer affairs, unless the context otherwise requires. See Hawaii Revised Statutes 414D-14

- Evidence: Information presented in testimony or in documents that is used to persuade the fact finder (judge or jury) to decide the case for one side or the other.
All certificates issued by the department director pursuant to this chapter, and all copies of documents filed in the department director‘s office pursuant to this chapter when certified by the department director, shall be taken and received in all courts, public offices, and official bodies as prima facie evidence of the facts stated therein. A certificate issued by the department director under the seal of the department of commerce and consumer affairs as to the existence or nonexistence of the facts relating to corporations, shall be taken and received in all courts, public offices, and official bodies as prima facie evidence of the existence or nonexistence of the facts stated therein.
