Sec. 7. (a) Except as otherwise provided by law, if an oral communication or a recording of an oral communication from a
party can be reliably stored and reproduced by an
insurer, the oral communication or recording may qualify as an
electronically delivered notice or document under this chapter.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 27-1-43-7
- electronically delivered: includes the following:
Indiana Code 27-1-43-1
- insurer: means a company, firm, partnership, association, order, society or system making any kind or kinds of insurance and shall include associations operating as Lloyds, reciprocal or inter-insurers, or individual underwriters. See Indiana Code 27-1-2-3
- Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
- Oath: includes "affirmation" and "to swear" includes to "affirm". See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
- party: means a recipient of a notice or document required as part of an insurance transaction. See Indiana Code 27-1-43-2
- person: includes individuals, corporations, associations, and partnerships; personal pronoun includes all genders; the singular includes the plural and the plural includes the singular. See Indiana Code 27-1-2-3
- Verified: when applied to pleadings, means supported by oath or affirmation in writing. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
(b) If a provision of this title or other applicable law requires a signature, notice, or document to be notarized, acknowledged, verified, or made under oath, the requirement is satisfied if:
(1) the electronic signature of the person authorized to notarize, acknowledge, verify, or give an oath; and
(2) all other information required to be included by the provision;
are attached to or logically associated with the signature, notice, or document.
