Terms Used In Indiana Code 27-8-24.1-5

  • accident and sickness insurance policy: means an insurance policy that provides at least one (1) of the types of insurance described in IC 27-1-5-1, Classes 1(b) and 2(a), and is issued on a group basis. See Indiana Code 27-8-24.1-1
  • covered individual: means an individual who is entitled to coverage under an accident and sickness insurance policy. See Indiana Code 27-8-24.1-2
  • inherited metabolic disease: means a disease:

  • medical food: means a formula that is:

(2) prescribed by a covered individual‘s treating physician for treatment of the covered individual’s inherited metabolic disease.
