Terms Used In Indiana Code 27-8-8-5.5

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Venue: The geographical location in which a case is tried.
     (b) The association is not required to give an appeal bond in an appeal that relates to a cause of action arising under or with respect to this chapter.
