Sec. 3. As used in this chapter, “transfer” means a:
(2) assignment;

- Settlement: Parties to a lawsuit resolve their difference without having a trial. Settlements often involve the payment of compensation by one party in satisfaction of the other party's claims.

(5) any other form of alienation or encumbrance;
of structured settlement payment rights made by a payee for consideration.
