Sec. 6. (a) A legislative member of the commission may be removed at any time by the appointing authority who appointed the legislative member.

Terms Used In Indiana Code 4-3-25-6

  • commission: refers to the Indiana commission to combat substance use disorder established by section 3 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 4-3-25-1
  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
     (b) If a vacancy exists on the commission, the appointing authority who appointed the member whose position has become vacant shall appoint an individual to fill the vacancy.

     (c) An individual appointed to fill a vacancy serves on the commission for the remainder of the unexpired term of the individual’s predecessor.
