Terms Used In Indiana Code > Title 4 > Article 13.1 > Chapter 4 - Technology Resources, Cybersecurity, and Infrastructure Standards

  • Appeal: A request made after a trial, asking another court (usually the court of appeals) to decide whether the trial was conducted properly. To make such a request is "to appeal" or "to take an appeal." One who appeals is called the appellant.
  • Attorney: includes a counselor or other person authorized to appear and represent a party in an action or special proceeding. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • fund: refers to the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics teacher recruitment fund established by section 3 of this chapter. See Indiana Code 21-13-11-2
  • in writing: include printing, lithographing, or other mode of representing words and letters. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
  • licensed physician: means an individual:

  • political subdivision: has the meaning set forth in IC 36-1-2-13. See Indiana Code 4-13.1-4-1
  • primary care: means the practice of medicine in any of the following areas:

  • public entity: means a:

  • Year: means a calendar year, unless otherwise expressed. See Indiana Code 1-1-4-5
