Sec. 2. As used in this chapter, “public entity” means a:
(2) state agency;
(1) political subdivision;

- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- political subdivision: has the meaning set forth in IC 36-1-2-13. See Indiana Code 4-13.1-4-1
- state educational institution: has the meaning set forth in IC 21-7-13-32. See Indiana Code 4-13.1-4-4
(3) school corporation; or
(4) state educational institution.

Sec. 2. As used in this chapter, “state agency” means any of the following:
(2) Any other authority, board, branch, commission, committee, department, division, or other instrumentality of the executive branch of state government, including the following:
(1) A state agency (as defined in IC 4-13-1-1).

- department: refers to the Indiana department of administration created by IC 4-13-1-2. See Indiana Code 4-13-1.4-1
- state agency: means any of the following:

(B) A license branch operated or administered under IC 9-14.1.
(C) The state police department created by IC 10-11-2-4.
