1. The director shall suspend or revoke the certificate of any contractor or installer who fails to maintain compliance with the conditions necessary to obtain a certificate. A certificate may also be suspended or revoked if any of the following occur:
a. The employment or relationship of a responsible managing employee with a contractor is terminated, unless the contractor has included a qualified alternate on the application or an application designating a new responsible managing employee is filed with the director within six months after the termination.
b. The contractor or installer fails to comply with any provision of this chapter.
c. The contractor or installer fails to comply with any other applicable codes and ordinances.
Terms Used In Iowa Code 100C.5
- Director: means the director of the department of inspections, appeals, and licensing or the director's designee. See Iowa Code 100C.1
- following: when used by way of reference to a chapter or other part of a statute mean the next preceding or next following chapter or other part. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Responsible managing employee: means one of the following:a. See Iowa Code 100C.12. If a certificate is suspended pursuant to this section, the certificate shall not be reinstated until the condition or conditions which led to the suspension have been corrected.3. The director shall adopt rules pursuant to section 100C.7 for the acceptance and processing of complaints against certificate holders, for procedures to suspend and revoke certificates, and for appeals of decisions to suspend or revoke certificates.
