1. Notwithstanding whether a person‘s attendance is in person or virtual, immunization against COVID-19 shall not be required for a person to be enrolled in any licensed child care center, elementary or secondary school, or postsecondary school in Iowa prior to July 1, 2029.
Terms Used In Iowa Code 139A.8B
- Board: means the board of hearing aid specialists. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- Child: includes child by adoption. See Iowa Code 4.1
- Person: means a natural person. See Iowa Code 154A.1
- State: means a state, territory, or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia, or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. See Iowa Code 152E.3
2. For the purposes of this section:
a. “COVID-19” means the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 or a virus mutating therefrom, and conditions associated with the disease caused by the novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 or a virus mutating therefrom.
b. “Postsecondary school” means a postsecondary institution under the control of the state board of regents, a community college established under chapter 260C, or an accredited private institution as defined in section 256.183.
