Terms Used In Iowa Code 252A.18
- clerk: means clerk of the court in which the action or proceeding is brought or is pending; and the words "clerk's office" mean the office of that clerk. See Iowa Code 4.1

Registration of a support order of another state or foreign country shall be in accordance with chapter 252K except that, with regard to service, promptly upon registration, the clerk of the court shall, by restricted certified mail, or child support services shall, as provided in section 252B.26, send to the respondent notice of the registration with a copy of the registered support order or the respondent may be personally served with the notice and the copy of the order in the same manner as original notices are personally served. The clerk shall also docket the case and notify the prosecuting attorney of the action. The clerk shall maintain a registry of all support orders registered pursuant to this section. The filing is in equity.
